Description

An enchanting, non-alcoholic potion transforming classic lemonade into a visually stunning and refreshing experience with vibrant colors, mysterious hues, and optional smoky effects. Perfect for any spooky-themed gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 cups filtered water (for simple syrup)
  • 6 cups chilled filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon green food coloring
  • ½ teaspoon purple or black food coloring (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons blackberry syrup
  • 1 teaspoon edible glitter
  • 810 ounces dry ice (optional)
  • Fresh lemon slices (optional)
  • Fresh mint or rosemary sprigs (optional)
  • Gummy worms or plastic spiders (optional)

Instructions

  1. Extract 1 ¾ cups fresh lemon juice; strain to remove seeds and excessive pulp.
  2. Prepare simple syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar and 4 cups filtered water. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely.
  3. Combine the cooled lemon juice and simple syrup in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Stir well.
  4. Dilute the concentrate: Add 6 cups of chilled filtered water to the lemonade base and stir gently. Adjust sweetness or tartness to taste if desired.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of blackberry syrup, stirring to incorporate.
  6. Introduce the color: Add 1 teaspoon green food coloring and stir until uniform. For deeper mystique, add ½ teaspoon purple or black food coloring (optional).
  7. Swirl in 1 teaspoon edible glitter. Stir gently to distribute the shimmer throughout the liquid.
  8. For serving with dry ice (optional): Handle dry ice only with heavy gloves or tongs. About 5-10 minutes before serving, carefully add small pieces (1-2 inches) of dry ice to the punch bowl or individual serving glasses.
  9. Garnish with fresh lemon slices, mint or rosemary sprigs, gummy worms, or plastic spiders.
  10. Serve immediately. If using dry ice in individual glasses, pour lemonade over dry ice carefully and advise guests not to drink until dry ice has fully sublimated.
