Description

Double Chocolate Chai Tahini Cookies are rich, chocolatey treats infused with chai spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup tahini (smooth)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice blend (or more to taste)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the tahini, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and chai spice blend until evenly mixed.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. If desired, lightly sprinkle some sea salt over the tops of the cookies for added flavor.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
  9. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve your cookies warm or at room temperature, enjoying each delicious bite!
