Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup black sesame seeds, toasted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
  2. In a skillet, toast the black sesame seeds over medium heat until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add in the mini marshmallows, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix in the granulated sugar if you prefer a sweeter treat.
  5. Once the marshmallows are melted, remove from heat. Gently fold in the toasted black sesame seeds and Rice Krispies cereal until all is well-coated.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Press evenly into the pan with a spatula. A light drizzle of oil on the spatula can prevent sticking.
  7. Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until set.
  8. Once cool, cut into squares or bars. Enjoy!
