Description
This Spaghetti Garlic Bread recipe combines the rich flavors of garlic and butter with perfectly cooked spaghetti, creating a comforting meal that’s sure to please. Enjoy it with warm, crispy garlic bread for the ultimate dining experience.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti
- Fresh garlic
- Unsalted butter
- Fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan or a mix of Italian cheeses
- Red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, saving a cup of pasta water.
- While the spaghetti is cooking, melt ½ cup of unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add 4-5 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic!
- Stir in ¼ cup of chopped fresh parsley, ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes (if using), and salt to taste. Mix well to combine the flavors.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the saucepan with the garlic butter mixture. Toss everything together, adding a little reserved pasta water if needed to help the sauce cling to the spaghetti.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take a loaf of French or Italian bread and slice it in half lengthwise. Spread the remaining garlic butter mixture generously on both halves of the bread.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy. If you like it extra crunchy, you can broil it for the last 1-2 minutes, but watch carefully to prevent burning!
- Slice the garlic bread and serve it hot alongside your spaghetti. Don’t forget to sprinkle some extra cheese and parsley on top of the spaghetti for that finishing touch!
