Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). While it heats up, wash and slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise, removing the seeds and membranes for less heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and any desired seasonings (like garlic powder and smoked paprika). If using bacon, cook it beforehand, chop it into small pieces, and mix it into the cheese mixture.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the pastry into strips approximately 1 inch wide.
  4. Take a strip of puff pastry and place a jalapeno half on one end. Spoon a generous amount of the cheese filling into the jalapeno. Wrap the pastry around the jalapeno, twisting it as you go. Make sure to seal the ends well to prevent the filling from leaking out.
