  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Cut the mozzarella sticks in half if desired; this makes them easier to handle and dip.
  2. In three shallow bowls, set up your breading stations.
  3. Bowl 1: Combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Bowl 2: Beat the eggs until well-combined.
  5. Bowl 3: Place the breadcrumbs.
  6. Dip each mozzarella stick in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Shake off excess flour.
  7. Next, dip the floured cheese stick into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
  8. Finally, roll the egg-coated mozzarella stick in the breadcrumbs, pressing firmly to adhere. Repeat for all sticks.
  9. Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes. This helps them retain their shape while frying.
  10. In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Carefully add a few mozzarella sticks at a time into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes.
  12. Once cooked, transfer the mozzarella sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
