Description

Irresistible French Dip Biscuit Bites are savory, tender beef wrapped in flaky, buttery biscuits, perfect for dipping in rich au jus.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 2 cans (16.3 oz each) refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Au Jus:
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and pepper. Brush this mixture over the roast beef slices.
  3. Separate the refrigerated biscuits. Press each biscuit slightly to flatten it.
  4. Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the seasoned roast beef onto the center of each flattened biscuit.
  5. Fold the edges of the biscuit dough over the beef, pinching to seal and create a bite-sized package. Ensure the beef is fully enclosed.
  6. Place the sealed French Dip Biscuit bites seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and puffed.
  8. While the biscuits are baking, prepare the au jus. In a saucepan, combine beef broth, red wine (if using), sliced onion, minced garlic, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
  9. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for at least 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Strain the au jus, discarding the solids.
  10. Serve the Irresistible French Dip Biscuit bites warm with the au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • For an even richer flavor, you can add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the au jus.
  • If you prefer a cheesy French Dip Biscuit, sprinkle a little shredded Swiss or provolone cheese over the beef before sealing the biscuit.
  • These bites can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven before serving.
  • Experiment with different cuts of beef for variations on your French Dip Biscuit.
