Description
Irresistible French Dip Biscuit Bites are savory, tender beef wrapped in flaky, buttery biscuits, perfect for dipping in rich au jus.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
- 2 cans (16.3 oz each) refrigerated biscuits
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- For the Au Jus:
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and pepper. Brush this mixture over the roast beef slices.
- Separate the refrigerated biscuits. Press each biscuit slightly to flatten it.
- Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the seasoned roast beef onto the center of each flattened biscuit.
- Fold the edges of the biscuit dough over the beef, pinching to seal and create a bite-sized package. Ensure the beef is fully enclosed.
- Place the sealed French Dip Biscuit bites seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and puffed.
- While the biscuits are baking, prepare the au jus. In a saucepan, combine beef broth, red wine (if using), sliced onion, minced garlic, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for at least 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Strain the au jus, discarding the solids.
- Serve the Irresistible French Dip Biscuit bites warm with the au jus for dipping.
Notes
- For an even richer flavor, you can add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the au jus.
- If you prefer a cheesy French Dip Biscuit, sprinkle a little shredded Swiss or provolone cheese over the beef before sealing the biscuit.
- These bites can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven before serving.
- Experiment with different cuts of beef for variations on your French Dip Biscuit.
