Description
Beef Shawarma is a mouthwatering Middle Eastern delight that combines tender, marinated beef with fresh veggies and creamy sauce, all wrapped in soft pita bread.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 pita breads or flatbreads
- ½ cup tahini sauce or garlic sauce
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain. In a bowl, mix garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, lemon juice, and olive oil. Toss the beef strips in the marinade and let them sit for at least 1 hour (overnight for best results).
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure it’s lightly greased if using a grill pan indoors.
- Cook the marinated beef strips in one layer for about 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly.
- Assemble your wraps by placing sliced beef on pita bread along with fresh veggies such as lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Drizzle with tahini or garlic sauce.
- Wrap tightly and enjoy!
Notes
- Best served fresh.
- Marinate overnight for enhanced flavor.
- Customize with your favorite vegetables.
