- 1 lb ground turkey (lean or extra-lean)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp neutral oil (canola or avocado)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tbsp neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and brown, breaking into small pieces, for 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet with the turkey and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the turkey in the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce slightly reduces and coats the turkey.
- Serve the honey garlic ground turkey immediately over rice or your preferred base. Garnish generously with sliced green onions.
