Description

Create a delicious and nutritious homemade frozen treat for your dog with this healthy dog ice cream recipe. Made with simple, wholesome ingredients like Greek yogurt, banana, and peanut butter, it’s a perfect way to cool down your furry friend on a hot day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened and unflavored)
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and mash the ripe banana in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the mashed banana, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and honey (if using).
  3. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-blended.
  4. Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or ice cube trays.
  5. Place the molds in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until solid.
  6. Once frozen, remove the dog ice cream from the molds and serve to your pet.

Notes

  • Ensure peanut butter is free from xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • Use plain, unsweetened, and unflavored Greek yogurt.
  • Honey is optional and should be used in moderation.
  • Variations include using mashed pumpkin, unsweetened applesauce, or pureed watermelon instead of banana.
  • Almond butter or sunflower seed butter (xylitol-free and unsalted) can substitute peanut butter.
