Ingredients

  • 3 medium yellow onions
  • 8 ounces freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon seasoning salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice onions into 1/4-inch rings; separate and pat dry completely.
  2. In a bowl, toss onion rings with avocado oil, paprika, coarse sea salt, garlic powder, seasoning salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Add parmesan cheese and toss gently to coat each ring.
  4. Arrange seasoned onion rings in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet (for oven) or in an air fryer basket (for air fryer); do not overcrowd.
  5. For Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy. For Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Air fry for 8-12 minutes, shaking/flipping every 4-5 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  6. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly; serve immediately for best crispness.
