Description

Creamy Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque is a rich and flavorful dish that brings the taste of the ocean to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh crab meat
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  2. Stir in the diced tomatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they soften.
  3. Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the paprika, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine the flavors.
  5. Carefully add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  6. Gently fold in the fresh crab meat, being careful not to break it apart too much.
  7. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently to combine. Allow the bisque to heat through for about 5 minutes, but do not let it boil.
  8. Taste the bisque and adjust the seasoning as necessary.
  9. Remove from heat and ladle the bisque into bowls. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
