Description
Delicious and savory pumpkin rings, perfect for a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.0 cup pumpkin puree
- 1.0 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1.0 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.0 large egg
- 1.0 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1.0 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.0 spray cooking spray
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and the egg. Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the pumpkin mixture, stirring until a sticky dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time.
- Lightly flour your hands and shape the dough into rings, about 2-3 inches in diameter and half an inch thick. Make sure to create a hole in the center for the ring effect.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Place the pumpkin rings in the basket, ensuring they do not touch each other. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry the pumpkin rings for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
- Once done, carefully remove the rings from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Serve warm with a side of marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce for added flavor.
