Description

Easy and delicious beef tacos topped with a creamy avocado sauce. Perfect for a weeknight meal or casual gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, lettuce, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let the beef cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
  4. While the beef is cooking, prepare the creamy avocado sauce. In a blender or food processor, combine the avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing a generous amount of the beef mixture in each tortilla, followed by a drizzle of the creamy avocado sauce.
  7. Top with fresh cilantro and any additional toppings of your choice.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra smooth sauce, blend for an additional minute.
  • Adjust lime juice and salt in the sauce to your preference.
  • Consider adding beef broth to the beef filling for added richness.
  • Experiment with different cheese or salsa for varied flavors.
